Former Visiting Lecturer in The Writing Program at USC, and current Professor of English at Santa Monica College, John Andrew Fredrick reads from and celebrates the release of his debut comic novella, the knucklehead chronicles, on Full Court Press at Stories LA Bookshop on Friday March 13 at 8 pm.
Drawing favorable comparisons to George Saunders, T.C. Boyle and Steve Almond, the knucklehead chronicles hilariously fuses a sort of faux 18th Century English Novel sensibility with an at once outrageous and poetic uber-hip ultra-modern style.
Aside from having produced 14 Cds as songwriter for his indie pop band the black watch, Fredrick has had literary work appear in Santa Barbara Magazine, The Santa Barbara Independent, Spectrum, and Dagger.
