In conjunction with the street date of their third volume entitled THREE, Penny-Ante will be host a night of readings and music.
Performances by writer, photographer, documentarian, and innovative noise artist SHARON CHESLOW who has worked with countless artists over the years, made history with Chalk Circle, the first all-female punk rock band in Washington DC, published her own zine Interrobang!, as well as a book of photos and anecdotes concerning DC’s punk scene in the late 70s, early 80s entitled Banned in DC. Also playing, TEARIST, the musical project of performance/artist and musician Yasmine Kittles and Will (Silver Daggers).
Readers include Penny-Ante THREE contributors MICK FARREN (The Deviants), LARRY FONDATION (Harvard Business Review, Fiction International, Flaunt), DREW TEWKSBURY (National Public Radio, Swindle), and Topanga-based poet, TOYLIT from the Crap-Poetry Movement (Brass Tacks Press).
Readings will be begin promptly at 7:30pm, music to follow. THREE will be on sale through Stories Books & Cafe at a special low cost of $20.
